Saipan Yoga Teachers

Susan Baetge
Originally from a small farm community in Iowa Susan made her way to Saipan via Portland Oregon and then Chicago Illinois. She has a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Psychology, Art Therapy, Fine Arts, and Montessori education) as well as her Primary teaching degree in Montessori.  A long time dancer she discovered yoga as a similar outlet during college. It was her wonderful experiences with teachers in Saipan and Bali that prompted her to get her own teacher training. She found Ashtanga to be her yoga of choice and finished her first teacher training with Caroline Kiebl in 2009. Since that time she has taught extensively on the island of Saipan at the resorts, gyms, as well as in the highschools. During 2010 while 5 months pregnant she continued her yoga training with Nikki Doane and Eddy Modestini through Maya Yoga in Maui. She strives to bring yoga to the residents of Saipan at all levels, be it beginners, experienced, young, old, or even pregnant.

Michelle Rogow
After living in many states across the US, Michelle made her way to San Francisco. She obtained a Civil Engineering degree and began working for the US Environmental Protection Agency.  As an environmental emergency responder, Michelle cleans up oil spills, hazardous materials and disasters, and has been spending time in Saipan for the past 12 years.  To balance the intensity of her job, Michelle discovered yoga about 15 years ago and embarked on a journey to experience many forms of yoga.  After many years practicing Iyengar and Vinyasa, Michelle began studying Bhakti Yoga with Rusty Wells and has been inspired and blessed to practice at Urban Flow in San Francisco.  After back surgery and a break from hatha practice in 2010, Michelle realigned her practice and teaching to focus on core, stability and back care.

Goeril Hagen
Born in Norway, Goeril has a Master’s Degree in Education and has traveled extensively around the world.  She discovered Bikram yoga in Maui, Hawaii in 2003.  Her body responded immediately to it, and she found that her long-suffering sport and car-accident related injuries began improving with impressive speed.  So profound was her experience with Bikram Yoga, Goeril attended Bikram Teacher Training in 2005, and has taught it ever since in places like Jakarta, Bali, Las Vegas, Norway and Saipan.  Wanting to deepen her yoga knowledge, in 2009 she was offered the rare opportunity to become certified in Moksha Yoga (in a once-only certification course outside of India or Toronto), and is now proud to be the first instructor of Moksha Yoga in Saipan.
